As Christians, we know that this world is not yet the “Kingdom come.” As we navigate the complexities of life before eternity, we turn to Scripture for wisdom about the future. These verses provide a window into the prophecies that offer both warning and hope regarding events that will unfold in the last days.

So what comes before the arrival of the New Creation? There are many theological understandings regarding what we would call the “end times,” but let’s turn to Scripture to see what the Lord has revealed to us about the future:

Matthew 6:10

“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 24:14

“The Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”

Revelation 7:9

After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands.

Luke 17:20

One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs.”

Revelation 21:1

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.

John 14:2

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

Jude 1:18

They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires.

1 Timothy 4:1

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.

Revelation 21:3

I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.”

Matthew 24:36

“No one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.”

John 14:3

“When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”
